What are the installation requirements and usage guidelines for fire-resistant rolling shutters?

Author:

Fire-resistant rolling shutters are fire- and heat-insulating devices suitable for large openings in buildings, and they play a crucial role in the design and installation of such products. Widely used in industrial and civil buildings as fire-rated partitions, these fast-acting fire shutters are indispensable fire protection equipment in modern construction, effectively preventing the spread of fire and safeguarding lives and property.

Fire-resistant rolling shutter door These are fire-resistant and thermal-insulation facilities suitable for large openings in buildings, representing a technology that plays a significant role in the design and installation of such products. Fire shutters are widely used in fire-rated partition walls in both industrial and civil buildings, serving as an essential fire protection measure in modern construction that effectively prevents the spread of fire and safeguards lives and property.

Fire-resistant rolling shutter door What are the installation requirements and usage guidelines?

  1. The upper part of the opening where the shutter is installed must not have vents, water pipes, or similar features.

  2. After installing the shutter, install the lift mechanism. The edge of the ceiling should be 50 millimeters away from the curtain panel to prevent friction.

  3. During debugging and operation, it is strictly prohibited to print upside down on the bottom side. Do not remove electrical facilities without authorization.

  4. According to fire safety management regulations, during routine fire safety inspections conducted each quarter, the chain lubricant used to start the motor must not be leaked. This is also an important aspect that many real estate agencies or fire departments often overlook during inspections.

Fire-resistant rolling shutter door Area calculation:

The calculation of fire-resistant shutter area shall be performed in accordance with the National Standards for Construction Project Budget and Settlement. The calculation method is as follows: (Fire-resistant louver opening height: 600 mm; louver opening width: 200 mm). Note: (The opening height is measured from the beam to the rough floor, and the track needs to be embedded.) The area of the frame and lintel is calculated by unfolding the area based on the dimensions of 3360 (opening width) × (bottom elevation). After measuring the height, maintain a clearance of 30 centimeters from the roof.

  (1) Demarcate the fire zone

  (2) Specifications (such as GB 50016-2014, "Code for Fire Protection Design of Building Design") or special requirements for fire-resistant and smoke-preventive partition wall designs.

Fire-resistant rolling shutter door What are the operational details that need to be paid attention to when using fire-resistant rolling shutters?

Steel fire-resistant curtains are crucial fire protection equipment for fire compartments and fire isolation zones in public places. As they are fire-fighting products with integrated mechanical and electrical performance, the installed fire-resistant curtains must be kept in proper working condition at all times. During use, steel fire-resistant curtains require the specialized handling and storage of dedicated equipment, and users must possess basic knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.

During operation, operators must not leave the operating area without permission. They should closely monitor the opening and closing status as well as the execution process. No one should stand beneath the curtains when they are being opened or closed. To prevent malfunctions of the limit switches, which could cause the curtains to jam, the motor to become blocked, or other accidents from occurring, steel fire-resistant curtains used for fire zones and fire compartments are typically kept in reserve. However, once a fire breaks out in the area, these curtains must be deployed effectively.

If any abnormal conditions are detected during use, immediate emergency measures should be taken to disconnect the power supply and address the issue. For fire-retardant curtains, a regular maintenance schedule must be established, and detailed maintenance records for each curtain should be kept and properly archived. Curtains that have remained closed for an extended period require maintenance once every six months, which includes dust removal, repainting, lubrication of the chain and roller chains in the transmission mechanism, and assessment of their service life. It is essential to check whether the electrical wiring and electrical equipment are damaged, functioning normally, and compliant with relevant standards. If any damage or non-compliance is found, an immediate inspection should be conducted.
