What are the installation requirements and usage guidelines for fire-resistant rolling shutters? 1. The upper part of the opening where the shutter is installed must not have any vents, water pipes, or similar features. 2. The power cable (three-phase five-wire and fire-control signal cable) should be routed by the user along the edge of the electrical control box located next to the shutter. 3. After installing the shutter, when mounting the lifting mechanism, ensure that the ceiling edge is at least 50 millimeters away from the shutter curtain panel to prevent friction.

  1. The upper part of the opening where the shutter is installed must not have vents, water pipes, or similar features.

  2. The power cable (three-phase five-wire and fire control signal cable) shall be placed by the user along the edge of the electrical control box next to the shutter.

  3. After installing the shutter, install the lift mechanism. The edge of the ceiling should be 50 millimeters away from the curtain rail to prevent friction.

  4. During debugging and operation, it is strictly prohibited to print upside down on the bottom side. Do not remove electrical facilities without authorization.

  5. According to fire management regulations, Fire-resistant rolling shutter door This is a fire-specific facility and must not be repurposed for any other use. No items may be stored directly beneath the curtains.

  6. After installation and commissioning, begin inspecting electrical and mechanical performance every quarter. During inspections, pay close attention to operational safety.

Fire-resistant rolling shutter door What are the key considerations for choosing?

Select Fire-resistant rolling shutter door At this point, the fire resistance rating of fire shutters is an important factor. There are two methods for testing the fire resistance rating of fire-resistant rolling shutters. First, a fire resistance test is conducted according to the current national standard GB7633, "Fire-Resistance Test Methods for Doors and Shutters," which specifies various criteria for determining the fire resistance rating, including the rise in temperature on the back surface of the shutter during a fire. Second, another fire resistance test is carried out under GB7633. Under this standard, for iron-shutter curtains without thermal insulation layers, in accordance with the regulation that does not require measuring the temperature rise on the light screen and the product standard "General Technical Conditions for Steel Fire-Resistant Rolling Shutters" (GB14102-93), the fire resistance rating of the shutter is determined solely based on the intensity of radiant heat at a specified distance behind the light source and whether the shutter itself is visibly burning. (GB14102-93) Since non-insulated fire-resistant shutters do not include the rise in light-screen temperature as a criterion for determining their fire resistance rating, their measured fire resistance ratings are significantly longer than those of insulated fire-resistant shutters, which do take into account the rise in light-screen temperature as part of their fire resistance criteria. According to these testing methods, fire-resistant shutters are classified into two categories: ordinary fire-resistant shutters and fire-resistant shutters with thermal insulation. Ordinary fire-resistant shutters do not reach the specified temperature rise on the light screen required for determining their fire resistance rating; however, if their fire resistance rating exceeds 3 hours, they can meet the requirements for thermal insulation and fire separation. Fire-resistant shutters with thermal insulation, on the other hand, do reach the specified temperature rise on the light screen required for determining their fire resistance rating; if their fire resistance rating exceeds 3 hours, they possess thermal insulation properties and can thus meet the requirements for fire-separation zones. Because the fire-retardant performance of ordinary fire-resistant shutters does not satisfy the requirements for fire-separation zones, when using such shutters, it is necessary to install separate closed-water spray systems or water curtain protections on both sides of the shutter. The market for fire protection products has many manufacturers of fire-resistant rolling shutters. Some manufacturers claim that their general fire-resistant shutters have fire resistance ratings of up to 3 or 4 hours. However, according to data provided by manufacturers and inspection reports from relevant national authorities, some designers are not fully aware of the testing methods used for fire-resistant shutters and mistakenly believe that the fire resistance rating of these shutters can reach 3 or 4 hours. Without installing protective measures, such shutters could directly serve as fire barriers.

Fire-resistant rolling shutter door What are the precautions?

During operation and use, operators must not privately separate the address codes. They should closely monitor the open/close status and execution conditions, and are strictly prohibited from walking under the curtains when they are opening or closing. If any abnormalities are detected during operation, immediate corrective measures must be taken: first, disconnect the power supply, and then eliminate the fault. Fire-resistant rolling shutter motors must have regular maintenance schedules established, and detailed records of the maintenance performed on each curtain must be kept and properly filed for future reference. Curtains that have remained open for an extended period—specifically, those left open for more than six months—must undergo maintenance once every six months, including tasks such as dust removal, repainting, and lubricating the chain wheels and roller chains in the transmission mechanism.
