A method for manufacturing a wood fire-rated door
Author:
Wooden fire doors are wooden doors designed to effectively block the flow of air between two spaces in the event of a fire, thereby indirectly preventing the spread of smoke, toxic gases, and hot air, and helping to either slow down or contain the fire’s progression. As such, wooden fire doors play a crucial role in firefighting scenarios. Currently, fire doors available on the market generally fall into several categories: wooden fire doors, steel fire doors, other types of fire doors, and so forth. However, some existing wooden fire door designs suffer from insufficient structural strength; after prolonged exposure to fire, their internal materials tend to undergo thermal deformation, which shortens their service life, compromises their ability to effectively prevent fire spread, and results in suboptimal fire protection performance.
Wooden fire-rated door These are wood fire doors. Once a fire breaks out, they can effectively block the airflow between two spaces, indirectly preventing the spread of smoke, toxic gases, and hot air, thereby either delaying or controlling the fire’s progression. Consequently, wood fire doors play a crucial role in the event of a fire. Currently, fire doors available on the market are generally categorized into wood fire doors, steel fire doors, other types of fire doors, and so forth. Some existing technologies... Wooden fire-rated door Due to insufficient structural strength, the internal materials of this product are prone to thermal deformation after prolonged exposure to fire, which shortens its service life and fails to effectively prevent the spread of flames, resulting in unsatisfactory fire protection performance.
Based on the aforementioned issues, this utility model provides a wooden fire-rated door with a reasonably designed structure and enhanced, more stable fire-retardant performance. To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, this utility model offers the following technical solution: a wooden fire-rated door comprising a panel that consists of two layers. Between these two panel layers is a flame-retardant and fire-resistant layer. Along one side of the panel, the flame-retardant and fire-resistant layer sequentially includes a honeycomb fixing plate, a ceramic fiber board, and a supporting buffer plate. The supporting buffer plate comprises a corrugated pressing plate and multiple longitudinally arranged reinforcing tubes. The pressing plate is positioned between the panel and the reinforcing tubes, and the reinforcing tubes are filled with cushioning material. By adopting the above technical solution, the flame-retardant and fire-resistant layer and the ceramic fiber board effectively provide fire protection. The flame-retardant and fire-resistant layer is secured by honeycomb fixing plates on both sides, while the ceramic fiber board is placed between the reinforcing tubes and the honeycomb fixing plates, thereby preventing chain reactions triggered by fire. This dual-layer approach not only enhances the structural strength but also achieves double fire protection, significantly improving the fire resistance of the wooden fire-rated door. In this utility model, the ceramic fiber board is preferred because it is lightweight, boasts high compressive strength, and has a long service life. On the side of the reinforcing tubes corresponding to the panel, there is a compression plate that features a wavy shape, giving it a certain degree of compressive elasticity. This allows it to effectively absorb and reduce damage to the panel when subjected to impact. The wave-shaped design of the compression plate can be either UV corrugations, which retain the high compressive strength of the V-shape while also offering the high bonding strength of the U-shape, thus further strengthening the connection between the compression plate and the panel. Furthermore, this utility model specifies that the flame-retardant and fire-resistant layer can be any one of the following materials: fire-retardant cotton board, perlite board, or ceramic fiber board. Among these options, the perlite board is particularly preferred in this utility model due to its excellent thermal insulation and fire-retardant properties, light weight, ease of processing, sound insulation and vibration damping capabilities, and environmental friendliness—all of which enable it to meet diverse practical application requirements.
The present utility model further provides that each cell within the honeycomb fixing plate is filled with fire-extinguishing powder, and the surface of the honeycomb fixing plate is covered with an isolation membrane. By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, the honeycomb fixing plate is composed of multiple hollow hexagonal prisms fixed together, ensuring high stability. The fire-extinguishing powder stored in the cells and the isolation membrane covering the surface of the honeycomb fixing plate enable the fire-extinguishing powder to be retained within the cells via the isolation membrane. When flames burn through the isolation membrane, the fire-extinguishing powder stored in the honeycomb fixing plate cells flows out, thereby playing a role in extinguishing the fire to some extent, preventing the fire from spreading and extending the fire-resistance duration. The present utility model also provides for the application of fire-retardant coatings on the outer surfaces of both panels. By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, the fire-retardant material sprayed onto the panels not only exhibits certain fire-retardant performance but also enhances the smoothness of the surface of wooden fire-rated door panels, making the panel surface less susceptible to corrosion, thus prolonging its service life and achieving excellent decorative effects. Furthermore, by adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, panels of different thicknesses can be selected according to specific usage conditions, which, while reducing wood consumption and lowering production costs for wooden fire-rated doors, also improves the optimized structural strength and extends the service life.
