The steel-wood fire-rated door is one of our key manufactured products—a type of fire-resistant door and window with unique functional features. During the manufacturing process, it is closely integrated with traditional solid wood doors. This product not only offers excellent fire safety performance but also boasts considerable aesthetic appeal. While it’s inevitable that some minor deviations may occur during installation, the allowable tolerances are quite tight. Therefore, highly skilled installers are required. Challenges encountered in the management of steel-wood fire doors

For steel-wood fire doors, the safety frame material of the door leaf should ideally be sodium ammonium salicylate. However, in actual production processes, cheaper pine and cedar woods are often used as substitutes, thereby compromising the fire-resistant properties of the door. The fire-resistant panels used for the door leaf should be either non-woven boards with excellent fire-retardant performance or medium-alkali glass fiber fabrics. In practice, medium-reinforced panels commonly employ medium-alkali glass fiber fabrics and high-alkali glass fiber yarns, which have relatively weak compressive strength. Moreover, the raw materials used for door frames and door casings have not undergone proper fire-retardant treatments—or if they have, the treatment results fall short of expectations. Additionally, the side width of the door casing is often insufficient, and the apparent density of the filling materials varies significantly, failing to provide adequate flame-retardant and thermal-insulation effects. The opening direction of steel-wood fire doors is particularly important: the correct opening direction should be toward the fire escape route. Furthermore, steel doors located near building expansion joints should be installed on the side of the building that experiences greater structural movement. This requirement is explicitly stipulated in architectural design codes. As for fire doors and windows in indoor stairwells, their opening direction should face toward the antechamber preceding the staircase.
