1: Check the appearance

3: Check the seal.
Fire-rated steel doors and wood fire doors that meet the required standards shall be equipped with fire-resistant sealing strips. These sealing strips must be installed vertically, without any warping or lifting, and must be accompanied by a compliance inspection report issued by a nationally accredited testing authority. In contrast, non-compliant products either lack fire-resistant sealing strips altogether or have sealing strips that are not installed vertically and are warped or lifted; furthermore, they have never been subjected to a compliance inspection report issued by a nationally accredited testing authority.

1. Selection of fire door models
Fire doors are classified, according to their opening status, into normally open and normally closed fire doors, as well as fire doors that can be either opened or closed. For fire doors located in areas within buildings where people frequently pass through, it is preferable to use fire doors that can be either opened or closed; for all other areas, normally open and normally closed fire doors should be used exclusively. For normally open and normally closed fire doors, conspicuous signs such as “Keep Fire Door Closed” must be installed in prominent areas of the door leaf.
2. Appearance of fire doors
The custom fire-rated door frames and door leaves shall be free from obvious unevenness, dents, scratches, or other defects. A durable factory nameplate shall be affixed in a prominent location, clearly indicating the product name, product specifications, fire-resistance rating, registered trademark, name of the manufacturer (producer) and place of manufacture, date of出厂 (factory release), date of product manufacture, and the applicable product standards. All information on the nameplate must be clear and securely affixed.
Normally open and normally closed fire doors shall be equipped with electric strike locks. Double-leaf and multi-leaf fire doors shall be fitted with devices that automatically release the door leaves in the event of a fire, as well as on-site manual operating devices. Fire-resistant latches shall be installed on the fixed side of the door leaf opposite to the other leaf of double-leaf doors.
3. Custom-made and assembled fire doors
Fire doors designed for fire evacuation shall open in the direction of evacuation and, once closed, must be manually operable from either side. For fire doors located near building expansion joints, it is essential to verify that they are installed on the side with the greater number of floors, and that the door leaf, when opened, does not extend beyond the building’s expansion joint. The frame of steel fire doors shall be filled with cement mortar, and the frame must be securely connected to the wall using embedded cast iron fittings or expansion bolts; the spacing between fixing points must not exceed 600 mm. The connection between the fire door leaf and its frame must have a minimum specification of 12 mm.
