Author:
What causes stainless steel fire doors to rust, according to a manufacturer in Liuzhou? A fire door is a door that, within a specified time frame, can meet the standards for fire resistance, integrity, and stability. Simply put, a stainless steel fire door is a fire door made primarily from stainless steel. Yet many people are puzzled and wonder: Why do stainless steel fire doors still rust? Liuzhou fire-rated door The manufacturer explains the reasons why stainless steel fire doors rust.
A fire-rated door is a door that, within a specified time frame, can meet the standards for fire resistance, reliability, and integrity. Simply put, a stainless steel fire-rated door is a fire-rated door made primarily from stainless steel. Yet, many people find this puzzling and wonder: Why do stainless steel fire-rated doors still rust? So, what exactly causes stainless steel fire-rated doors to rust?
1. On the surface of stainless steel, deposits containing soot or semi-humanoid particles enriched with other chemical elements accumulate. In a humid environment, condensation forms between these deposits and the stainless steel, creating a microcell that triggers electrochemical corrosion, thereby damaging the protective film. This phenomenon is known as an electrochemical reaction.
2. If organic compounds—such as juices from fruits and vegetables, soups, noodles, or sputum—adhere to the surface of a stainless steel watch, they will form organic substances under oxygen-rich conditions. Over time, citric acid can erode the metal surface.
3. The stainless steel surface becomes adhered with substances containing acids, alkalis, and salts (such as edible alkali and lime paste splashed during building construction and wall decoration, or hydrochloric acid used for cleaning tile floors), leading to localized corrosion.
4. In air polluted by environmental contaminants—such as atmospheres containing high levels of sulfates, carbon dioxide, and sulfur oxides—condensation water can form droplets of hydrochloric acid and acetic acid, leading to corrosion.
National industry standard for fire- and theft-resistant doors:
1. This means it has already met China’s Class A fire-resistant or fire-rated door standards.
2. Class A standards generally differentiate based on the duration of flame resistance, and also include anti-pry requirements in the following aspects:
The door frame is 2.0 thick. The steel plates on both sides of the door leaf are each 0.8 thick.
Common specifications and models of fire doors:
Standard residential doors typically come in four different specifications, indicated by a four-digit code that corresponds to the width and height of the door opening in the building. For example, if a door has a total width of 1 meter and a height of approximately 2.1 meters, its specification would be labeled as 1021. Common specifications include 0920, 0921, 1020, and 1021. Door openings can be classified into two types: interior doors and entrance doors. Both interior doors and entrance doors can further be divided into left-opening and right-opening (with the door swinging inward or outward). Users can choose the door opening direction based on which side is more convenient for them to open the door.
