Precautions for Fire-Resistant Doors in Guangxi

Guangxi offers a wide variety of fire-rated doors, including glass fire doors, stainless steel fire doors, and standard high-quality steel fire doors. However, the installation methods are generally the same, depending on site conditions, though there are several common installation parameters that require attention. The installation of Guangxi fire-rated doors should be carried out according to the specific type of fire door used, and the corresponding installation method should be adopted accordingly.

  Guangxi offers a wide variety of fire-rated doors, including glass fire doors, stainless steel fire doors, and standard high-quality steel fire doors. However, the installation methods are essentially the same regardless of the specific type of door used, though there are several common installation parameters that require attention. The installation of Guangxi fire-rated doors should be carried out according to the type of fire-rated door being used, and the appropriate installation method should be adopted accordingly. Guangxi fire doors The door frame can be fixed to the wall using expansion bolts, or iron fittings can be pre-embedded in the wall during construction; when installing, the connecting parts of the door frame should be securely welded together.

  Regardless of the connection and fastening method used between the door frame and the wall material, each side must have no fewer than three anchor points, and all connections must be secure. When installing Guangxi fire-rated doors, first straighten the door to ensure it is properly aligned and sized, then temporarily fix it in place, make necessary adjustments and alignments, and finally secure it permanently. In contrast, wooden fire doors, which are lighter in weight, offer flexible opening and closing, have a highly decorative appearance, come in a wide variety of patterns, and are relatively more expensive. They are commonly used in residential buildings or in important areas of buildings. Typically, the dimensions of openings suitable for non-fire-rated doors are approximately: 3.3 meters in height, 1.1 meters in width for single-leaf doors, and 3.0 meters for double-leaf doors. In Guangxi, the installation of fire doors must strictly adhere not only to the specifications regarding location, width, rating, and opening direction, but also to other regulatory requirements.

  Fire doors in Guangxi are typically located along evacuation routes (such as staircases, lobbies, and walkways). If the detailed design of the building’s floor plan is inadequate, it could result in fire doors obstructing evacuation routes or reducing their effective width once opened, thereby violating fundamental evacuation requirements. This phenomenon is particularly pronounced at corners of evacuation paths and in high-rise residential buildings, and thus deserves special attention and careful avoidance.

  Under certain conditions, when Class A fire doors from Guangxi lead to adjacent fire compartments, each zone in a high-rise building is permitted to have only one fire exit. It is important to note that since Guangxi fire doors can open only in one direction, if the two adjacent zones have only one such nationally-approved technical fire exit, then two fire doors should be installed on the fire wall, each opening toward a different side, to meet the evacuation needs between the two zones.

  The more commonly used type is the normally closed fire door, which remains shut at all times. It can be manually opened from the rear side and automatically closes afterward. If push-lock hardware is installed, evacuation speed can be further accelerated. However, normally closed fire doors in public passageways often have drawbacks in everyday use, such as obstructing ventilation and natural light, blocking visibility, and causing traffic inconvenience. Moreover, if not properly managed, the door panels and opening/closing hardware tend to become damaged or fail, posing safety hazards. Normally open fire doors, on the other hand, effectively address these issues. Under normal circumstances, the door is held in an open position by a door holder. In the event of a major fire, the door holder automatically releases, enabling the door to function just like a normally closed fire door—closing securely and reliably. Because these doors are equipped with additional door frames and automatic release systems, and sometimes linked to automatic alarm systems, frequently opened fire doors inevitably lead to higher construction costs.
